Mr Asuquo Joshua Oyo

Mr Asuquo Joshua OyoOur simple, alluring and unassuming conferee, Asuquo Joshua Oyo, was born on August 18th, 1967 to the family of late Mr & Mrs Oyo Inameti Oyo, a descendant of one of the strong pillars of Oyo Ita family, i.e. Chief Inameti Oyo Ita.

Being born and bred in Lagos where his father lived and after successfuly completing his primary education at the Fountain Primary School, Surulere, Lagos, he gained admission into the prestigious C.M.S. Grammar School, Lagos from 1977 to 1982 before proceeding to the University of Benin between 1983 and 1989 after which he enrolled for further studies at the University of Calabar.

The above listed educational exploits culminated in our distinguished honoureee bagging the following qualifications, among others: West African School Certificate (O' Level) in 1982; Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering in 1989 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in year 2000.

Our honouree has a refreshing working career which he started with the then Calabar Cement Company (CalCemCo), which company was later absorbed by the present UNICEM. Between 1992 and 1998, he meritoriously carried out the following functions: Process Engineer/Sectional Head of Crusher and Cement Mill Unit, factory plant, Calabar, 1992-1995; Senior Production Engineer (Cement Mill Section) 1995-1998.

Being the versatile worker that he is and not getting the requisite job satisfaction apart from irregular remuneration that obtained then in CalCemCo, our distinguished honouree sought and got employment in a reputable oil company, Seaweld Engineering Nigeria Ltd/Prosafe Production Nigeria Ltd, an affiliate of Adax Oil Company where between 1998 and 2004 he served as the Senior Production Operator/Asst. Production Supervisor.

Still not satisfied and because of his marketability in the oil industry, he was again grabbed by yet another oil servicing company, Exprotech Nigeria Ltd, an affiliate of Monipulo Oil, where he served as Senior Production Operator/Process Plant and Platform between 2010 and 2013; Production Superintendent from 2013 to 2015.

However, our honoureee is currently with Weatherford Oil Tool ME Ltd, UAE, a job which grants him the privilege of a bi-weekly shuttle between Nigeria and the UAE and which is why he is not home today in person.

Apart from other intimidating credentials, our man is also into research and publication such as 'Recycling of Fibrous Materials (Saw Dust as case study, 1989)'. He has also attended various courses such as HYSYS (steady state/dynamics) simulation/application, July 2007 by the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers; Project Management (Theory and Practice) September 2006, by Nigerian Society of Engineers; Cement Technology Seminar (August 1998) by the Cement Manufacturers' Association of Nigeria. He is also a corporate member (MNSE) Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) 2008.

It is worthy to note that in spite of these intimidating credentials, our man is as close to God as ever and is an ordained elder with the Winners Chapel. And above also he is a caring family man, who is happily married to his beautiful wife, Chinelo, which marriage has received the blessings of children.

Please join me in making welcome to our honouree to be presented to Etubom to be conferred with the reverred title of 'ODUNG' Ufok Etinyin Oyo Ita.
