Mr Samuel Oyo Ene

Mr Samuel Oyo EneBorn 57 years ago as the 4th child to the Christian family of late Chief Oyo Oyo Ene Edet of Okoroba Oyo Ita vilage in Akpabuyo Local Government and late Mrs Ayimo Oyo Ene (Nee Ayimo Ekeng Inyang) of Etinyin Ewa Ekeng Royal Family of Henshaw Town, Calabar South.

Samuel Oyo Ene, popularly known amongst his peers as Ita-Udo, attended Sacred Heart Primary School, Calabar and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1974. He Also attended the West African People's Institute (WAPI) where he passed the West African School Certificate in 1979. He started a working career as a public servant, Cross River State Judiciary in 1980.

He did not allow his working career to becloud his academic pursuit thus, he gained admission into the Calabar Polytechnic where he read Business Management and graduated in 1992.

Mr Samuel Oyo Ene rose through the ranks in the Cross River State Judiciary to the post of Assistant Director (Court Administration) and Head of various Magisterial Districts such as Calabar, Akpabuyo, Akamkpa, Okoyong, Oban, Obubra, Apiapum, Ikom and Etung.

At the church level, Mr Samuel Oyo Ene was baptized into the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Kaduna Parish by late Rev. Onuk and was confirmed as a full communicant member on the 18th day of July 1985 by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Henshaw Town Parish, Calabar. He has served as the Parish Board Clerk; Secretary, Men's Christian Association; Financial Secretary, Calabar Presbytery Men's Christian Association (CPMCA) and a chorister for many years.

His social life is refreshing and encompassing and includes full and active membership of Calabar Sports Club (founded 1898) and plays lawn tennis and darts.

He is a member of the Mbono Ufok Etinyin Oyo Ita and had served as Financial Secretary of the House. Mr Ene is happily married to Elder Mrs Ikwo Oyo Ene and the marriage is blessed with three children.
