Elder Felix Ekpenyong Essien
Elder Felix Ekpenyong Essien was born on the 21st of July 1955 to late Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Okon Ekpenyong Essien in Calabar in the present Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He attended Sacred Heart Primary School, Egerton Street, Calabar where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1969 and proceeded to Saint Patrick's College, Ikot Ansa, Calabar where he obtained his West African School Certificate Grade II and General Certificate of Education Advance Level in 1973 and 1975 respectively.
Elder Felix took up appointment as a teacher at Secondary School, Creek Town from 1976 to 1980, a profession he cherishes so much. However, he voluntarily disengaged from teaching job and took up appointment with the Nigerian Ports Authority in 1980.
Punctuality, commitment, transparency, the fear of God, hard work and empathy were practices diligently pursued throughout his over 18 years of service with the Nigerian Port Authority where he served and retired to nurture his private business 'Canaan City Co. Ltd'.
Ostensibly, Elder Essien is an incredible ethnic and religious tolerant man in the practice of his faith. His knack for work is founded on the principle of loyalty to constituted authority with a rare humble style that is unequalled. In view of the above his cchurch, the Mount Zion Lighhouse Full Gospel Church, made him an Elder in 1990.
Elder Essien believes in serving God through the church, rendering his precious time with pious societies, organizations and regular visits to the less privledged/patients in the hospital.
Our Elder is married to Mrs Love E. Essien, and they are blessed with children. He enjoys travelling, reading, dancing, sports etc. Presently, he resides in Calabar with his family.
Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in inviting this wonderful achiever for presentation for the award of the exalted title of 'ODUNG' Ufok Oyo Ita.
